  • Title:
    Head Coach

Bio

Colin McSharar enters his third year at Anderson University and second season as head women's lacrosse coach at Anderson. In the Ravens’ inaugural season, the team went 2-8 with wins against Thomas More University and Franklin College, where Colin was the head coach prior coming to Anderson. Also during that season, C.J. Pinyot earned the program’s first-ever first-team All-Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference (HCLC) selection. McSharar guided Samantha Huber and Mallory Housman to second-team HCLC recognition. Huber also garnered the program’s first HCLC player-of-the-week recognition.

McSharar was the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach at Franklin for the 2017 season. That year, the Grizzlies had their most successful season to date. They finished fifth out of 13 teams in the now defunct Ohio River Lacrosse Conference (ORLC), a combination of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) and the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC). He coached two first-team All-ORLC players while there. Before being elevated to Head Coach, he was the Associate Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator for the Grizzlies during the 2015 and 2016 season.

Prior to that, he had coaching stints for the men's club team at Butler University and was an assistant coach for both boys and girls at his alma mater Bishop Chatard High School in Indianapolis.

McSharar is also one of the more reputable goalie coaches in the country. In the summer, he coaches the goalies for Circle City Lacrosse, a club based out of Indianapolis.  He also coaches goalie clinics for Bill Pilat’s The Goalie School, as well as several other clinics around the country.

In the Winter of 2019, Colin went on a trip with FCA Lacrosse (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) to run a lacrosse camp in Kampala, Uganda. The camp was attended by over 250 youth through college boys and girls. Also while there, he was a part of 3D Coaching Training for the local youth and college coaches. As a result, McSharar is now heavily involved in the training and development Ugandan National Teams.

McSharar played his college ball at Mount St. Joseph University in Cincinnati. While there, he was an All MLC award winner as a goalie his senior season in 2011. That season, he either led or was top two in the conference for saves, save percentage, goals against, goals against average (GAA), and Wins. He still holds the Mount St. Joseph record for wins in a season.
