Anderson Downs Hanover, Clinches No. 3 Seed in HCLC Tournament
In a battle for the No. 3 seed in the Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference (HCLC) Tournament, the Anderson University women’s lacrosse team (3-8, 3-2) rallied past Hanover College (2-9, 2-3) by a score of 12-11 during Saturday’s HCLC matchup in Hanover.

This was a gutsy win coming from behind. The ladies dug deep in the last nine minutes with four unanswered goals and some great defensive stops.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Ravens opened up with a 3-1 lead after one quarter.
- Anderson took a 6-3 lead with 10 minutes, 2 seconds left in the second quarter.
- Hanover scored six consecutive goals to take a 9-6 lead. Masi McNally-Henriksen netted three consecutive goals to cut the lead to 6-5 at halftime and tied the game at 6-6 in the third quarter.
- The Panthers received two goals from Katie Comer and another from Taylor McNally-Henricksen to take a 9-6 lead through three quarters.
- Erin Bentley and Gretta Mesarosh both scored goals to trim Anderson's deficit to one, but Masi McNally-Henricksen tallied two goals to give Hanover an 11-8 lead.
- Riley Tull began a four-goal rally scoring with 8:55 to go to cut the lead to 11-9.
- Mesarosh, Emma Sego and Tull each found the back of the net to give Anderson a 12-11 lead with 4:01 to go.
- Trailing, 11-10, the Ravens scored their last two goals directly off draw control wins from Sego and Caitlin Stewart.
- Anderson recorded three defensive stops in the final four minutes and four defensive stops in the final nine minutes.
- Leading Hanover by one on the final possession, Tull caused a turnover to seal the victory.
