The Ravens (2-2) and the Lions (1-1) were tied at 8-all at halftime. Mount St. Joseph then opened the second half on a 6-0 run, taking a 14-8 lead with 22 minutes, 39 seconds remaining. Both teams traded goals as the Lions held a 15-9 advantage with 17:14 to go. The Ravens then scored the next four goals to cut the deficit to two with 9:22 remaining. Riley Tull (Georgetown, Ky./Scott County) found the back of the net to put the Ravens within one with 4:22 to go.
As time began to wane, the Ravens received possession with 35 seconds left, trailing by one. Anderson was awarded a free-position attempt with nine seconds remaining, but Mount St. Joseph came up with the stop and the win.
Anderson cleared 18-of-23 (78.3 percent) attempts while Mount St. Joseph finished 19-of-25 (76 percent) on clears. The Ravens also held an 11-2 advantage on free-position attempts and a 5-2 advantage in free-position goals.
Samantha Huber (St. Louis, Mo./Westminster Christian) led the Ravens with six goals and an assist. Mallory Housman (Evansville, Ind./Reitz Memorial) provided three goals. Tull and Kaitlyn Lawson (Newburgh, Ind./Castle) turned in two goals each. Elizabeth Graham (Riverside, Ohio/Carroll) turned in a goal and an assist while Gretta Mesarosh (Avon, Ind./Avon) netted a goal.
Housman recorded team-highs of six caused turnovers and five ground balls. Graham secured seven draw controls. Lawson notched four caused turnovers and four ground balls. Huber created three turnovers while Emily Albert (New Albany, Ind./Christian Academy of Indiana) collected three ground balls. Madison Leonard (Flower Mound, Texas/Flower Mound) saved five of the 21 shots she faced.
Anderson returns to action on April 7 by battling Franklin College (0-2) in non-conference action at 4 p.m. at Macholtz Stadium.
