Anderson Tops Hanover in Quadruple Overtime Thriller

Anderson (1-0) and Hanover (0-1) traded the first pair of goals before the Panthers scored the next five goals. Samantha Huber (St. Louis, Mo./Westminster Christian) added a goal to cut the deficit to 7-3 by halftime.
Riley Tull (Georgetown, Ky./Scott County) produced the opening two goals for Anderson in the second half. After Hanover scored a goal, Huber, Kaitlyn Lawson (Newburgh, Ind./Castle) and Elizabeth Graham (Riverside, Ohio/Carroll) scored unanswered goals to bring the game into overtime.
Neither team scored in the first three overtimes, but Graham netted the game-winning goal with 1 minute, 50 seconds left in the fourth overtime to secure the win for the Ravens.
"This is a great win for the program," Coach Russell Mackey said. "This was truly a great team effort as more than 70 percent of our offense on the field scored while our defense stepped up in the second half and held them to one goal. They never gave up!"
Graham led the Ravens with three goals. Tull and Huber each turned in two goals and an assist. Lawson provided a goal and an assist while Mallory Housman (Evansville, Ind./Reitz Memorial) scored a goal.
Emily Albert (New Albany, Ind./Christian Academy of Indiana) recorded team-highs of four ground balls and three caused turnovers. Huber tallied three ground balls and six draw controls.
Madison Leonard (Flower Mound, Texas/Flower Mound) saved 13 of the 21 shots she faced. The sophomore from Flower Mound, Texas also provided three ground balls and two caused turnovers.
Housman picked up three ground balls while Lawson, Allison King (Middletown, Ind./Shenandoah) and Elisa Mendiola (La Porte, Texas/La Porte) each created two turnovers.
The Panthers outshot the Ravens 29-26 and held a 21-13 advantage in shots on goal.
Anderson returns to action on March 11 to host Concordia University Chicago (0-0) on March 11 at 6:30 p.m. at Macholtz Stadium.
