Smatlak Earns Third HCAC Field Athlete-of-the-Week Honor of Season
Anderson University track and field standout Emily Smatlak (Lynnwood, Wash./Lynnwood) earned the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Field Athlete of the Week, which was announced by the conference on Monday.

Anderson University track and field standout Emily Smatlak (Lynnwood, Wash./Lynnwood) earned the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Field Athlete of the Week, which was announced by the conference on Monday.
Smatlak was selected as the HCAC Field Athlete of the Week for the third time this season and for the fourth time in her career. The senior from Lynnwood, Wash. claimed first place in the javelin with a throw of 37.31 meters (122 feet, 5 inches) during the Dr. Keeler Invitational last Friday.
Smatlak currently awaits the announcement of the NCAA Division III national qualifiers. The three-day NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships are set to begin on May 27 in Greensboro, N.C.
