Murray Secures HCAC Indoor High Jump Title
Anderson University women’s track and field senior Mariah Murray secured first place in the high jump during Saturday’s Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Indoor Championships in Terre Haute.

Murray cleared the bar at 1.62 meters (5 feet, 3.75 inches) in the high jump and received first-team all-conference honors.
Anderson took seventh with a team score with a team score of 45 points.
Murray sprinted to second in the 60-meter dash finals with a time of 8.22 seconds to garner second-team all-conference recognition. She earned third (8.32) in the 60-meter dash prelims. Murray also raced to third in the 200 with a personal record (PR) time of 27.13 seconds to received all-conference honorable mention.
The Ravens fielded a 4x400 relay of Katelyn Englert, Emily Smatlak, Murray and Victoria Baver, which locked up third with a season-best time of 4 minutes, 17.24 seconds and earned all-HCAC honorable mention.
Anderson put together a 4x200 relay of Murray, Smatlak, Englert and Baver, which claimed fourth with a season-best time of 1:50.82.
Baver raced to fifth (1:03.76) in the 400. The Garrett native took seventh in the high jump, clearing the bar at a season-best height of 1.48 meters (4 feet, 10.25 inches).
Rebecca Gregg crossed the finish line seventh (2:31.59) in the 800.
Emily Kelley finished eighth in the weight throw with a toss of 13.15 meters (43 feet, 1.75 inches).
Katelyn Englert clocked a PR time of 10.52 seconds in the 60-meter hurdles.
Krista Franklin posted season-best times in the 60-meter dash (8.86) and the 200 (30.86).
Hanover College claimed the HCAC title with 148.5 points. Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology came in second with 125.5 points, finishing ahead of Manchester University (113), Bluffton University (69), Mount St. Joseph University (60), Earlham College (48), Anderson (45), Franklin College (26), Defiance College (21) and Transylvania University (6), which rounds out the team standings.
The Ravens host the Fred Wilt Invitational on Saturday at 3 p.m. in Kardatzke Wellness Center.
