Anderson Secures Seventh in Hanover College Invitational

"Early outdoor season in the Midwest means the weather has unfavorable conditions to compete well," Coach Nic Huffman said. "I'm really proud of how we executed what we've been working on in practice. The high winds made it tough for us to have great times on the track, but a lot of runners were at or better than they've ever run. It's a young team, so we will only keep getting better. I can't wait to see how we progress."
Noelle Loller claimed first place in the 10K with a time of 39 minutes, 34.07 seconds. The senior from Lapel currently ranks 18th on the NCAA D-III leaderboard for the 10K.
Jada Stansberry swept the 100-meter dash and the 200 in her collegiate debut, charging to times of 12.73 seconds in the 100 and 26.45 seconds in the 200. She raced to a 0.83-second margin of victory in the 200. Stansbury currently leads the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) in both events, ranking 69th in the 100 and 75th in the 200 on the NCAA D-III leaderboard. In Anderson school history, the freshman from Alexandria ranks fifth in the 200 and sixth in the 100.
Julia Drier took sixth in the 200 with a time of 29.41 seconds. The freshman from Muskegon, Mich. also posted a time of 13.84 seconds in the 100. Among HCAC leaders, Drier currently ranks sixth in the 100 and eighth in the 200.
Sierra Kalli clocked a 1,500 personal record of 6:36.77.
Assistant Coach Felisha Johnson captured first in the shot put with a toss of 16.41 meters (53 feet, 10.25 inches).
The Ravens battle in the George Glass Invitational on Saturday, April 1 at 10:30 a.m. in Upland.
