Whatley, Fisher Sweep HCLC Player-of-the-Week Selections
Anderson University men’s lacrosse standouts Cole Whatley (Green Bay, Wis./Notre Dame Academy) and Eric Fisher (Indianapolis, Ind./Southport) swept the Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference (HCLC) Player-of-the-Week selections, which was announced by the conference on Monday.
Anderson University men's lacrosse standouts Cole Whatley (Green Bay, Wis./Notre Dame Academy) and Eric Fisher (Indianapolis, Ind./Southport) swept the Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference (HCLC) Player-of-the-Week selections, which was announced by the conference on Monday.
Whatley was named the HCLC Offensive Player of the Week while Fisher was selected as the HCLC Defensive Player of the Week.
The Ravens (0-2) fell to Taylor University (3-1) in an 11-8 decision on Feb. 25 at Macholtz Stadium.
Fisher saved 21 of the 32 shots he faced, tying the school's single-game saves record. The junior from Indianapolis closed the match with a save percentage of .656, which is the second-highest single-game save percentage in school history. Fisher also recorded five ground balls.
Whatley netted three goals for the Ravens. The sophomore from Green Bay, Wis. picked up six ground balls and won eight faceoffs.
The Ravens resume action on March 17 when they challenge Adrian College (0-1) at 4 p.m. in Adrian, Mich.
