Ravens Dominate Quakers
Wednesday night at Macholtz Stadium, the Anderson University Men’s Lacrosse team (3-2) defeated the visiting Wilmington College (2-3) in dominant fashion by a score of 17-3.

Wilmington struggled against the Raven's aggressive defense and couldn't stop the hot start by the Anderson offense early in the first quarter.
The Anderson defense was led by Eric Fisher, the reigning Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference (HCLC) Defensive Player of the Week, and was able to hold Wilmington to only three goals allowed. Fisher saved six of the nine shots he faced, while picking up five ground balls. Anderson also held the Quakers scoreless in the second half. The Ravens finished plus-8 on turnovers, turning the ball over 25 times in comparison to Wilmington's 33. Anderson doubled Wilmington's caused turnovers by a 16-8 margin. The Ravens nearly doubled the Quakers' ground balls, closing the match with a 52-27 advantage. Anderson finished 14-of-20 (70 percent) clears while Wilmington cleared 9-of-23 (39.1 percent) attempts.
Blake Seifert posted a team-high of six caused turnovers as well as six ground balls. Kenny Bentley and Cole Whatley each collected eight ground balls. Mason Bratcher created five turnovers. Bryce Johnson also caused three turnovers.
Not only did the Ravens have a strong night defensively, but their offensive game was even stronger. Anderson outscored Wilmington by 14 goals. Clayton Emery led the way for the Ravens with 5 goals. Johnathan Havener and Josh Rhodes also contributed 4 goals apiece. Michael Ertel scored two goals while Logan Lawrence and Sean Terry each added goals. On the Quaker side, Justen Shaw led the way with 2 goals.
The Ravens will travel to Kalamazoo, Mich. on Saturday for a matchup against the Kalamazoo College Hornets (2-3). This matchup takes place at 1:00 p.m.
