Ravens Comeback Falls Short in Overtime

The Anderson University men's lacrosse team (0-5) came out on the wrong side to Averett University (2-5) in overtime by a score of 10-9 on Thursday in Danville, Va.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Cougars jumped out to a 4-1 lead 19 minutes into the game.
• Anderson responded, scoring seven of the next nine goals to take an 8-6 lead with under seven minutes remaining.
• Averett answered with a quick 3-0 run to take a 9-8 lead with over two and a half minutes remaining.
• Noah Walsh came through in the final 30 seconds, beating the Cougar goaltender to tie the game at nine.
• Trenton Rock won the opening faceoff of the overtime period. Connor Kistner was able to get a shot off but missed wide.
• Averett's Zachary Hulbert denied the Ravens another opportunity, capitalizing on their first chance to score.
• The Averett cleared 19-of-20 (95.0 percent), while Anderson cleared 15-of-19 (78.9 percent)
• The Ravens won 18-of-23 (78.2 percent) faceoffs
• The Cougars outshot the Ravens 47-27
• Anderson committed 26 turnovers, compared to Averett's 12
