Fighting Muskies Put Together Win against Ravens
The Anderson University men’s lacrosse team competed in New Concord, Ohio on Saturday as they took on the Muskingum University Fighting Muskies. The non-conference contest went in favor of the Fighting Muskies (1-0) as they defeated the Ravens (0-2) by a score of 15-1.

Muskingum came out strong from the opening whistle, scoring its first goal of the game just 46 seconds into the match at 14 minutes, 14 seconds. From that moment on, the Fighting Muskies just tallied up the goals over the Ravens.
At the end of the first quarter, the Fighting Muskies led the Ravens 3-0.
During the second quarter, Anderson struggled to get anything going as the Fighting Muskies continued to find the back of the net. Heading into halftime, Anderson trailed Muskingum 7-0.
The third quarter was the highest scoring quarter for the Fighting Muskies as they added on six goals to their total.
Heading into the fourth and final quarter of the game, Anderson trailed Muskingum 13-0. The Fighting Muskies would put two more on the board before Anderson finally found the back of the net with 6:05 remaining in the game. The Ravens lone goal came in a man-up situation where freshman Sean Terry recorded his first career goal as a Raven. Terry was assisted by Josh Rhodes. At the final whistle, the Ravens fell to the Fighting Muskies 15-1.
Anderson ended the game with 22 shots, eight of which were on frame, while Muskingum tallied 46 shots, 29 of which were on frame. The Fighting Muskies picked up 61 ground balls compared to the Ravens 41. Muskingum finished each of its 23 clear attempts while Anderson cleared 17-of-21 (81.0 percent) attempts. Kenny Bentley won four faceoffs for the Ravens. Johnathan Havener recorded seven shots, putting four on frame. Goalkeeper Eric Fisher made 14 saves on the day.
Anderson will now have a week break before hosting the Heidelberg Student Princes (0-0) at Macholtz Stadium for a non-conference match-up on Saturday at 3PM.
