Ravens Fall to Pioneers
On Sunday, the Anderson University men's lacrosse team traveled to Lexington, Ky., to face the Transylvania University Pioneers in a Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference (HCLC) matchup. The Pioneers (6-4, 1-0) controlled the game from start to finish, securing a dominant 27-2 victory over the Ravens (0-9, 0-1).

The Pioneers (6-4, 1-0) controlled the game from start to finish, securing a 27-2 victory over the Ravens (0-9, 0-1).
Transylvania set the tone early, scoring just over a minute into the contest. Anderson responded with a goal from Connor Kistner at the 4:14 mark in the first quarter to make the score 4-1, but the Pioneers continued their offensive onslaught. By the end of the opening period, Anderson trailed 8-1. The second quarter saw more of the same, as Transylvania added 10 unanswered goals to take an 18-1 lead into halftime.
After a quieter third quarter in which Anderson held Transylvania to three goals, the Ravens found the back of the net again in the fourth. Noah Walsh scored Anderson's second goal of the game with 7:38 remaining, but the Pioneers closed the contest with four more goals to seal the 27-2 victory.
Anderson finished the game with 19 total shots, nine of which were on goal, while Transylvania fired off 56 shots, 39 of which were on target. The Pioneers held a 33-12 advantage in ground balls and won 21 of the 33 faceoffs. Transylvania converted 29-of-30 (96.7%) clear attempts, while Anderson went 11-of-21 (52.4%).
Kistner and Walsh each scored a goal for the Ravens, with Walsh also recording five total shots. Trenton Rock won 11 faceoffs and secured a team-high eight ground balls. Abram Zimmerman led the Ravens with four caused turnovers. Goalkeeper Spencer Pruden made 12 saves in net for Anderson.
The Ravens will return home to Macholtz Stadium on Wednesday, April 9, at 7 PM to take on Hanover College (7-2, 0-0) in another HCLC matchup.
