Anderson Claims Four Wins in Dick Small Invitational

The Anderson University men's track and field team claimed four wins during the Dick Small Invitational on Friday in Defiance, Ohio.

Michael Sweigart (Alexandria, Ind. / Alexandria-Monroe) captured first place overall in the weight throw as well as first in the college division in the shot put. Jair Adams (Indianapolis, Ind. / Heritage Christian School) claimed first in the 200. Anderson's 4x400 'A' relay team of Adams, Zachary Davenport (Frankton, Ind. / Frankton), Kaleb Gucinski (Fishers, Ind. / Fishers) and Caleb Carrao (Indianapolis, Ind. / Heritage Christian School) also took first in the 4x400.

COACH NIC HUFFMAN'S COMMENTS

I could not have asked for a better day. The support, teamwork and willingness of our student-athletes to make our team better was prevalent all day long. I'm proud of the effort, focus and culture the team brought. All of those factors resulted in nearly every person having a personal best or close to their best. Other young runners competed like veterans in new events. The athletes have been consistent in their hard work and have been receptive to our great coaching staff. I cannot overstate how excited I am for the progress and future of the program. It's a great day to be a Raven!
