Sweigart recorded a distance of 15.49 meters (50 feet, 10 inches) in the shot put. The Alexandria native also secured ninth in the weight throw with a distance of 16.22 meters (53 feet, 2.75 inches). Sweigart closed the indoor season ranked 37th in the nation in the shot put with a distance of 15.57 meters (51 feet, 1 inch).
"Michael ended the season with his best throws series," Coach Nic Huffman said. "He's consistently throwing at an elite level and has grown a lot this season. His work ethic and dedication are unmatched and I'm really proud of his growth. He reached nearly every goal he set for indoor season and is only more motivated to hit every goal during the outdoor season. Michael plays a key role as a competitor, teammate and leader on this team. The scary thing is that he is just getting started. I'm really looking forward to what we accomplish outdoors."
The Ravens begin the outdoor season on Saturday, March 25 with the Hanover College Invitational at 11 a.m. in Hanover.
