Anderson University men's track and field sophomore Parker Hammons finished eighth place in the javelin during Friday's Billy Hayes Invitational in Bloomington.

Hammons launched the javelin a distance of 43.49 meters (142 feet, 8 inches).

Michael Sweigart placed 10th in the shot put with a distance of 14.87 meters (48 feet, 9.5 inches).

Sweigart battles in the GVSU Last Chance Meet on Tuesday at 12 p.m. in Allendale, Mich.
