Davenport Takes Fifth in 800 in Indiana D-III Championships
Anderson University men’s track and field freshman Zachary Davenport took fifth place in the 800-meter run during Saturday’s Indiana D-III Championships in Greencastle.
Anderson University men's track and field freshman Zachary Davenport took fifth place in the 800-meter run during Saturday's Indiana D-III Championships in Greencastle.
Davenport clocked a personal-record (PR) time of 1 minute, 59.75 seconds, breaking his old PR by 3.31 seconds. The freshman from Frankton scored four points in the meet for the Ravens.
Kaleb Gucinski raced to a 5,000 PR time of 16:32.87, taking down his previous PR by 24.42 seconds.
"Zach and Kaleb had huge PR's," Coach Nic Huffman said. "We had great weather conditions. All their willingness to push themselves, listen to their coach and dedication to put in work has paid off. I'm really proud of them."
The Ravens return to action in the two-day Mike Becraft Invitational, beginning on Friday, April 22 at 4 p.m. in Ada, Ohio.
