Carrao, Sweigart Sweep HCAC Athlete-of-the-Week Awards
Anderson University men’s track and field athletes Caleb Carrao and Michael Sweigart swept the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Athlete-of-the-Week awards, which were announced by the conference on Monday.
Anderson University men's track and field athletes Caleb Carrao and Michael Sweigart swept the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Athlete-of-the-Week awards, which were announced by the conference on Monday.
Carrao earned his first career HCAC Track Athlete of the Week selection while Sweigart received his second career HCAC Field Athlete of the Week selection. Sweigart and Carrao earned their accolades following their performances at the Early Bird Open on Friday in Defiance, Ohio.
Caleb Carrao (Jr., Indianapolis, Ind./Heritage Christian School)
- 400 – 50.18 seconds – 1st Place – 1.47-second Personal Record – Ranks 6th in nation
- 200 – 23.39 seconds
Michael Sweigart (So., Alexandria, Ind./Alexandria-Monroe)
- Shot Put – 15.38 meters (50 feet, 5.5 inches) – 1st Place – 1.72-meter (5-foot, 7.75-inch) Personal Record – Ranks 6th in nation
- Weight Throw – 15.77 meters (51 feet, 9 inches) – 3rd in college division – Ranks 27th in nation
