Anderson Takes Down Fightin' Engineers
The Anderson University women's swimming and diving team takes down Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology with a 183-85 victory during Friday's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) matchup at Bennett Natatorium.

"I'm very pleased with how the women competed," Coach Tanner Barton said. "It's always fun to have a home meet, especially when you're hosting another team from the HCAC. The energy in Bennett Natatorium made for an exciting atmosphere."

The Ravens (1-0, 1-0) made the diving program debut on Friday. Halle Strege (McCordsville, Ind./Mount Vernon) finished third place in the first round of 1-meter diving with a score of 123.50. The freshman from McCordsville captured first in the second round of 1-meter diving with a score of 198.80.

"[Friday] was a very special night for our women. Halle Strege (McCordsville, Ind./Mount Vernon) made history by becoming the first diver in program history to compete for Anderson University. The entire team was incredibly supportive of Halle and she performed some exceptional dives. It's going to be fun to watch her work with Coach Andra Pavich and witness how much Halle will grow throughout the year."

Lily Hunter (Westfield, Ind./Westfield) raced to first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 26.31 seconds. The freshman from Westfield captured first in the 100 freestyle with a time of 58.37 seconds.

Claire Leibold (Dayton, Ohio/Archbishop Alter) locked up first in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5 minutes, 42.35 seconds. The sophomore from Dayton, Ohio, earned first (11:56,78) in the 1,000 freestyle.

Kaitlyn Hopp (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove South) claimed first (2:30.68) in the 200 individual medley. The sophomore from Downers Grove, Ill. took second in the 500 freestyle (5:50.44) and the 1,000 freestyle (12:01.82).

Tess Maubach (Bloomington, Ill./Bloomington) charged to first (1:07.08) in the 100 butterfly. The sophomore from Bloomington, Ill. secured second in the 200 individual medley (2:31.24) and the 200 butterfly (2:37.37).

Aubrey Davis (Centerville, Ind./Centerville) raced to first (1:05.95) in the 100 backstroke and second (26.69) in the 50 freestyle.

Tori Haessig (Sunman, Ind./Milan HS) turned in first (2:36.12) in the 200 butterfly and second (1:08.04) in the 100 butterfly.

Lillia Mitchell (Crawfordsville, Ind./North Montgomery) recorded a first-place finish in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:16.73.

Hunter, Davis, Leibold and Brooke Denouden (Lake Orion, Mich./Lake Orion) fielded a 400-freestyle relay, which captured first (3:54.50).

Emma Maubach (Bloomington, Ill./Bloomington) claimed second (1:21.81) in the 100 breaststroke and third (1:01.16) in the 100 freestyle.

Denouden took second (1:00.04) in the 100 freestyle. Ashley Daulton (Batesville, Ind./Batesville) earned second (1:10.18) in the 100 backstroke. Heather Krapfl (Orland, Ind./Lakeland) secured third (1:23.72) in the 100 backstroke. Madison Burton (Topeka, Ind./Westview) turned in third (1:16.18) in the 100 butterfly. Emalea Tragesser (Tipton, Ind./Tipton) put together a third-place finish (8:33.78) in the 500 freestyle. Noelle Parks (Lebanon, Ind./Lebanon) finished fourth (1:01.18) in the 100 freestyle.
