Ravens Hold Third Place after Day 1 of HCAC Championships
The Anderson University women’s swimming and diving team holds third place after Day 1 of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Championships on Friday in Terre Haute.

Franklin College leads the HCAC standings with 264 points. Transylvania University sits in second with 128 points, just two points ahead of Anderson with 126 points. Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology is currently in fourth with 85 points while Manchester University rounds out the team standings in fifth with zero points.
Anderson fielded a 200-yard freestyle relay team of Heather Karm (Lowell, Ind./Lowell), Kaitlyn Hopp (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove South), Lillia Mitchell (Crawfordsville, Ind./North Montgomery) and Lily Hunter (Westfield, Ind./Westfield), which captured third with a time of 1 minute, 42.45 seconds to earn all-HCAC Honorable Mention.
The Ravens also put together a 400 medley relay of Tess Maubach (Bloomington, Ill./Bloomington), Karm, Tori Haessig (Sunman, Ind./Milan) and Hunter, which locked up third (4:12.81) to receive all-HCAC Honorable Mention.
During the 50 freestyle, Hunter claimed fourth (25.15) in the finals and fourth (25.09) in the prelims. Karm earned sixth (25.62) in the 50 freestyle finals and sixth (25.52) in the 50 freestyle prelims. Ma'Kalah Toney (New Orleans, La./NOCCA) took eighth (26.11) in the 50 freestyle finals and ninth (26.99) in the 50 freestyle prelims.
During the 500 freestyle, Hopp secured fifth (5:27.80) in the finals and fifth (5:28.67) in the prelims. Erin Aliff (New Ross, Ind./Western Boone) claimed eighth (6:15.31) in the 500 freestyle finals and ninth (6:19.78) in the 500 freestyle prelims.
During the 200 individual medley, Mitchell captured sixth (2:19.60) in the finals and fifth (2:18.94) in the prelims. Brooklyn DenOuden (Lake Orion, Mich./Lake Orion) earned seventh (2:20.20) in the 200 individual medley finals and seventh (2:19.01) in the 200 individual medley prelims. Haessig finished 11th (2:27.92) in the 200 individual medley finals and 12th (2:29.35) in the 200 individual medley prelims.
Anderson put together a 200 freestyle relay team of Noelle Parks (Lebanon, Ind./Lebanon), Torey, Aliff and Emalea Tragesser (Tipton, Ind./Tipton), which secured eighth (1:58.55). The Ravens also fielded a 400 medley relay team of Hopp, Mitchell, DenOuden and Parks, which claimed eighth (4:23.35).
