MEET COMMENTS
- Coach Emma Furnish – It was a great Senior Day! Our seniors left it all in the pool for their last time competing at Bennett Natatorium! This senior class is very special to me for they knew me as their teammate before they so graciously accepted me as their head coach! I just want to thank Anthony Stultz, David Lange, Halle Strege and Lily Hunter for helping me see the fight and drive of this senior class in the classroom and in the pool! They sure are a core group our team will greatly miss! But the show is not overa and we still have work to do before we arrive in Terre Haute for the HCAC Conference Championships in a few weeks.
- Lily Hunter – [Saturday] went really well. I think that we all had a really good time together. We pushed and worked really hard together to swim against a team that is competitive with us, but I think it went really well. We have a close-knit team and we all have a lot of fun together. It's been really fun to work with the team and grow the program the last four years.
- Halle Strege – Senior Day went really well. I had a lot of fun with the team. They celebrated us and it was just a good feeling to be celebrated by them and have the pool decorated. Competition wise, this was the best meet my [diving] teammates [Nora Logsdon, Matthew Hayward] and I have had collectively this season. I was only one point off of my record, so that was a pretty good meet. My takeaway from the past four years of being in the swimming and diving community is to keep doing what you love. I really feel that swimming and diving is a mentally hard sport, but that solidified my feelings [about swimming and diving] and I continued to persevere through the hardness. You have to persevere through anything life throws at you. Diving has taught me a lot; I love it and I will be thankful for it for the rest of my life.
