Ravens Remain in Third after Day 2 of HCAC Championships
The Anderson University women’s swimming and diving team remains in third place after Day 2 of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Championships on Saturday in Terre Haute.

Anderson fielded an 800-yard freestyle relay team of Lily Hunter (Westfield, Ind./Westfield), Brooklyn DenOuden (Lake Orion, Mich./Lake Orion), Heather Karm (Lowell, Ind./Lowell) and Kaitlyn Hopp (Downers Grove, Ill./Downers Grove South), which captured second with a time of 8 minutes, 21.72 seconds to garner second-team all-HCAC recognition.
The Ravens also put together a 200 medley relay team of Tess Maubach (Bloomington, Ill./Bloomington), Karm, DenOuden and Hunter, which locked up third (1:53.76) to earn all-conference honorable mention.
During the 200 freestyle, Hopp claimed fourth (2:02.20) in the finals and fourth (2:02.78) in the prelims. DenOuden earned seventh (2:05.15) in the 200 freestyle finals and seventh (2:05.19) in the 200 freestyle prelims. Noelle Parks (Lebanon, Ind./Lebanon) finished ninth (2:06.59) in the 200 freestyle finals and eighth (2:07.00) in the 200 freestyle prelims.
During the 100 breaststroke, Karm took fifth (1:11.19) in the finals and fifth (1:12.21) in the prelims. Emalea Tragesser (Tipton, Ind./Tipton) placed 10th (1:44.80) in the 100 breaststroke finals and 10th (1:44.35) in the 100 breaststroke prelims.
During the 100 backstroke, Maubach captured fifth (1:03.26) in the finals and sixth (1:04.09) in the prelims. Parks earned 11th (1:08.44) in the 100 backstroke finals and 11th (1:07.72) in the 100 backstroke prelims.
During the 400 individual medley, Lillia Mitchell (Crawfordsville, Ind./North Montgomery) locked up sixth (5:13.04) in the finals and sixth (5:12.97) in the prelims.
Anderson put together a 200 medley relay team of Parks, Mitchell, Tori Haessig (Sunman, Ind./Milan) and Ma'Kalah Toney (New Orleans, La./NOCCA), which claimed eighth (1:58.57). The Ravens also fielded an 800 freestyle relay team of Parks, Erin Aliff (New Ross, Ind./Western Boone), Haessig and Maubach, which secured eighth (8:52.30).
Anderson currently trails second-place Transylvania University by 17 points. Franklin College leads the HCAC standings with 637 points. Transylvania holds second with a score of 283 and is currently ahead of Anderson (266), Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (224) and Manchester University (1), which rounds out the team standings.
The Ravens wrap up the third and final day of the HCAC Championships on Sunday at 10 a.m.
