Anderson Picks Up Win against Bethel
The Anderson University men's swimming and diving team closed out with a split during Saturday's Wabash triangular in Crawfordsville.
Â
Wabash College (2-0) earned a 153-94 victory against the Ravens (1-1). Anderson fought past Bethel University (Ind.) (0-2) with a 130-120 victory. The Ravens captured their second win in program's four-year history with the win. It also marks the first victory under head coach Tanner Barton.
Â
"I'm thrilled that the men are coming back to Anderson with a victory," Barton said. "Even though we had the smallest roster size at [Saturday's] meet, this victory over Bethel University is a testament to their perseverance and unwavering desire to race."
Â
The triangular marks the only time Anderson will compete in a single-gender meet. With no women's races in between each event, stamina played a bigger role in the meet.
Â
"When only one gender is racing, the pace of the meet is much quicker. Today proved to be a great learning experience for our men as they were learning how to transition from one event to the next event without ample time to warm down or rest. These meets truly test your stamina and ability to hold race speeds."
