Anderson Sits in Fourth after Day 1 of HCAC Championships
The Anderson University men’s swimming and diving team sits in fourth place after Day 1 of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Championships on Friday in Terre Haute.

Anderson put together a 200-yard freestyle relay team of Josh Ekberg (Mahomet, Ill./Mahomet-Seymour), Bryce Holt (Osceola, Ind./Penn), Noah Scheffer (Lambertville, Mich./Bedford) and Evan Kropf (Fort Wayne, Ind./Concordia Lutheran), which captured third place with a time of 1 minute, 27.40 seconds to earn all-HCAC Honorable Mention.
The Ravens also fielded a 400 medley relay team of Holt, Ekberg, Kris Keller (Fishers, Ind./Northridge) and Kropf, which claimed fourth with a time of 3:34.98.
During the 50 freestyle, Kropf locked up sixth (21.76) in the finals and fifth (21.58) in the prelims. Ekberg also earned 11th (22.37) in the 50 freestyle finals and 11th (22.1) in the 50 freestyle prelims.
During the 200 individual medley, Keller secured ninth (22.37) in the finals and eighth (22.10) in the prelims.
Anderson fielded a 200 freestyle relay team of Cameron Stanley (Lizton, Ind./Tri-West), Matthew Hayward (Fort Wayne, Ind./Concordia Lutheran), Anthony Stultz (New Palestine, Ind./New Palestine) and David Lange (Milaca, Minn./Princeton), which finished ninth (1:39.45). The Ravens also put together a 400 medley relay team of Stanley, Lange, Scheffer and Stultz, which placed 10th (3:54.30).
Franklin College currently leads the HCAC standings with 238 points. Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology holds second (205) and is currently ahead of Transylvania University (96), Anderson (79) and Manchester University (0), which rounds out the team standings.
Anderson continues in Day 2 of the HCAC Championships on Saturday at 10 a.m.
