Anderson Remains in Third after Day 2 of HCAC Championships
The Anderson University men’s swimming and diving team remains in third place after Day 2 of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Championships on Friday in Terre Haute.

Franklin College is hanging on to the conference lead with a team score of 482 points. Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology trails the lead by only 17 points with a team score of 465. Anderson sits in third with 182 points and is currently ahead of Transylvania University (139), Hanover College (135) and Manchester University (10), which rounds out the current HCAC standings.
Noah Scheffer captured fourth in the 100-yard butterfly finals, improving his school record with a time of 51.21 seconds. The freshman from Lambertville, Mich. earned third (51.52) in the 100-butterfly prelims.
Bryce Holt took seventh in the 100-backstroke prelims, breaking the school record with a time of 55.00 seconds. The junior from Osceola tied for seventh (56.22) in the 100-backstroke finals.
The Ravens fielded a 200-medley relay of Evan Kropf, Josh Ekberg, Scheffer and Holt, which charged to third with a time of 1 minute, 38.18 seconds.
Ekberg secured fifth (59.51) in the 100-breaststroke finals and fourth (59.99) in the 100-breaststroke prelims.
Anderson put together an 800-freestyle relay of Holt, Kropf, Kris Keller and Scheffer, which earned fourth (7:25.18). The Ravens also fielded an 800 freestyle of Andrew Taflinger, Wil Lashbrook, David Lange and Anthony Stultz, which claimed ninth (8:07.49).
Anderson put together a 200-medley relay of Alex Cubellis, Keller, Lange and Taflinger, which took ninth (1:41.50).
Cubellis raced to 10th (57.43) in the 100-backstroke finals and eighth (56.59) in the 100-backstroke prelims.
Taflinger captured 11th (59.85) in the 100-backstroke finals and 11th (58.25) in the 100-backstroke prelims.
Lange finished 11th (4:45.24) in the 400-individual-medley finals and 11th (4:46.34) in the 400-individual-medley prelims.
Austin Orr placed 12th (5:13.44) in the 400-individual-medley finals and 12th (5:32.79) in the 400-individual-medley prelims.
Anderson wraps up the HCAC Championships on Saturday at 10 a.m.
