Anderson Provides 15 Personal Records in Miami Invitational

The Anderson University men's swimming and diving team provided three school records, 15 personal records and 33 total season bests during the three-day Miami Invitational, which concluded on Saturday in Oxford, Ohio.

Anderson placed eighth in the team standings. Every school Anderson faced was either an NCAA D-I or NCAA D-II institution. The field included five NCAA D-I schools and two NCAA D-II schools.

Reid Haney clocked three school records. The freshman from Goshen broke the school record in the 1,650 freestyle (17:25.28), 500 freestyle (5:02.84) and the 1,000 freestyle (10:28.62).

COACH EMMA FURNISH'S COMMENTS

This was a long and challenging weekend. Ultimately our team stepped up and gave it a good fight! They conquered each battle they faced and equated to combined totals of 24 personal records and 58 season bests. Our divers had one of the hardest battles to face, the mental battle, and yet they still ripped some dives. The work is yet to be done; we are halfway through the season and big things are coming!
