Anderson Jumps to Third after Day 2 of HCAC Championships
The Anderson University men’s swimming and diving team jumped up to third place after Day 2 of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Championships on Saturday in Terre Haute.

Anderson passed Transylvania University in the team standings. Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology holds a two-point lead over Franklin College as the two schools are first with 485 points and second with 483 points, respectively. Anderson is currently in third with a score of 194 while Transylvania currently holds fourth with a score of 177. Manchester University rounds out the HCAC standings in fifth with a score of 6.
Josh Ekberg (Mahomet, Ill/Mahomet-Seymour) captured third in the 100-yard breaststroke finals with a time of 57.98 seconds to earn all-HCAC Honorable Mention. The senior from Mahomet, Ill. took fifth (59.39) in the 100 breaststroke prelims.
The Ravens fielded a 200 medley relay team of Evan Kropf (Fort Wayne, Ind./Concordia Lutheran), Ekberg, Noah Scheffer (Lambertville, Mich./Bedford) and Bryce Holt (Osceola, Ind./Penn), which locked up third with a time of 1 minute, 34.56 seconds to receive all-conference honorable mention.
Anderson also put together an 800 freestyle relay of Kris Keller (Fishers, Ind./Northridge), Cameron Stanley (Lizton, Ind./Tri-West), Holt and Kropf, which took fourth (7:28.01).
During the 400 individual medley, Keller claimed fifth (4:24.36) in the finals and sixth in the prelims.
David Lange (Milaca, Minn./Princeton) secured ninth (4:32.53) in the 400 individual medley finals and 10th (4:31.80) in the 400 individual medley prelims. The sophomore from Milaca, Minn. finished ninth (1:01.76) in the 100 breaststroke finals and ninth (1:00.99) in the 100 breaststroke prelims.
Holt captured sixth (54.66) in the 100 backstroke finals and sixth (54.71) in the 100 backstroke prelims.
Scheffer took seventh (52.51) in the 100 butterfly finals and seventh (52.68) in the 100 butterfly prelims.
The Ravens fielded a 200 medley relay of Keller, Lange, Stanley and Matthew Hayward (Fort Wayne, Ind./Concordia Lutheran), which finished 10th (1:46.80).
Anderson closes out with the third and final day of the HCAC Championships on Sunday at 10 a.m.
