2022 NCAA Diving Regional Preview
Anderson University women’s diving junior Halle Strege and Anderson men’s diving sophomore Matthew Hayward have each qualified for the NCAA D-III Central Diving Regional in the 1-meter diving event, which takes place this weekend in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Anderson University women's diving junior Halle Strege and Anderson men's diving sophomore Matthew Hayward have each qualified for the NCAA D-III Central Diving Regional in the 1-meter diving event, which takes place this weekend in Grand Rapids, Mich.
Strege is set to compete in her event on Friday at 7:45 p.m. while Hayward is scheduled to compete on Saturday at 12 p.m.
Strege set the women's school record in the 11-dive 1-meter diving event with a score of 438.55 points and an average of 39.87 points per dive. She has been named Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Diver of the Week four times this season. Strege took second in the HCAC Championships with a 11-dive 1-meter diving score of 413.80 points and an average of 37.62 points per dive.
Hayward set the men's school record in the 11-dive 1-meter diving event with a score of 514.75 points and an average of 46.80 points per dive. He has been selected as HCAC Diver of the Week three times this season. Hayward finished second in the 11-dive 1-meter diving event with a score of 433.30 points and an average of 39.39 points per dive.
