Anderson Men’s Swimming & Diving Welcomes Five Freshmen for 2022-23 Season

The Anderson University men's swimming and diving program and head coach Emma Maubach welcome five freshmen for the 2022-23 season. Michael Collins, Andrew Crawford, Luken Edwards, Reid Haney and Noah Singleton will each represent the Anderson Class of 2026.

"With these five talented athletes joining our program this year for our seventh season, it will be the largest men's team we've ever had," Coach Emma Maubach said. "Each athlete is super different, but all are crazy smart. Adding these men to our program will make more than half of our men's team Engineering majors. I have a crazy feeling great things will be happening for us this year thanks to these solid freshman men!"

Harrison HS: Earned second place in 100 butterfly during Southern Indiana Athletic Conference (SIAC) meet … clocked 100 butterfly PR of 56.19 seconds … provided 50 freestyle PR of 23.08 seconds … turned in 100 freestyle PR of 53.91 seconds … earned Eagle Scout rank.

Major: Mechatronic Engineering

Why I Chose AU: I chose AU because it felt like the right place for me to go. Along with AU having a great campus, AU provides the amazing opportunity to study the major I want to study and get hands-on experience to prepare me for the future.

Coach Maubach's Comments: Michael is a legit butterflyer that will make a huge difference to our butterfly squad. He will also help solidify our relay depth in meets.

Mooresville HS: Competed on school-record 200 freestyle relay during senior season … clocked 1-mile PR of 19:06 … provided 500 freestyle PR of 5:24 … contributed 200 freestyle PR of 1:58 … raced to 50 freestyle PR of 24.88 seconds … 10-year member of 4-H … received best of show in 2018 … earned reserve best of show in 2022 … joined Morgan County 4-H board in 2020.

Major: Cybersecurity/Computer Science

Why I Chose AU: Anderson University is ranked extremely high in the state for Cybersecurity/Computer Science programs. The school was recommended as a great school from learning from friends and family members. The small class sizes encourage a more interactive classroom. As the youngest of five siblings, I have recognized an importance of building a support system/community while away at school. Staying active is the best way that I know to do this. I have been a competition swimmer since seventh grade and Anderson University is giving me the ability to continue. I am looking forward to growing and competing with my new teammates.

Coach Maubach's Comments: Andrew is a highly competitive distance swimmer bringing passion and drive to our team.

Eastern Hancock HS: Raced to a 50 freestyle PR of 22.89 seconds … turned in 100 freestyle PR of 50.33 seconds … posted 200 freestyle PR of 1:54 … competed in cross country for four years … charged to 5K PR of 18:50.2 as a junior … produced season-best 5K of 19:19.5 as a senior … contributed season-best 5K of 20:22.5 as a sophomore … put together season-best 5K of 21:35.0 as a freshman … competed in track and field as a junior … secured 3,200-meter PR of 11:16.84 … provided 800 PR 2:21.0.

Major: Engineering

Why I Chose AU: I chose AU so I could stay in the world of swimming and receive and good education.

Coach Maubach's Comments: Luken is a solid sprinter that will be highly challenging for our competitors.

Northridge HS: Qualified for Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) State Championships as a senior … two-time Indiana Senior State qualifier … team captured IHSAA sectional title during freshman season … clocked 1,650 freestyle PR of 17:00.86 as a senior … posted 500 freestyle PR of 4:53.85 as a senior … contributed 200 freestyle PR of 1:49.87 … participated in band … qualified for state in band as a sophomore.

Major: Management

Why I Chose AU: Anderson was a great fit for me due to the small class sizes, and personal attention. I also really like Coach Maubach and everybody on the team was really welcoming. I'm excited to compete with my new teammates. Go Ravens!

Coach Maubach's Comments: Reid is an outrageously talented distance swimmer. He will bring great leadership and stamina to our distance team.

Knox HS: Clocked a 100 backstroke PR of 55.92 seconds … raced to a 100 freestyle PR of 49.38 seconds … posted a 200 freestyle PR of 1:49.77 … recorded a 50 freestyle PR of 22.79 seconds … secured a 200 backstroke PR of 2:05.60 … contributed a 100 breaststroke PR of 1:04.83 … put together a 200 individual medley PR of 2:05.52 … team captured Hoosier North Athletic Conference (HNAC) title during junior season … competed in cross country … qualified for Indiana High School Athletic Association (IHSAA) regionals as a sophomore and junior … raced to a 5K PR of 19:30.3 as a junior … turned in a season-best 5K of 20:36.3 as a freshman … provided a season-best 5K of 21:32.0 as a sophomore … competed in golf … qualified for IHSAA regionals as a junior.

Major: Electrical Engineering

Why I Chose AU: I chose Anderson University because of the program that they have for Engineering, for how nicely I was treated every time that I visited, and for the smaller campus. The first time that I visited, everyone was treating me like I was already in college and I like to know that they wanted me here to not only represent them with my academics but also give me the opportunity to be a student-athlete and swim for them.

Coach Maubach's Comments: Noah is a powerful and crucial part of our backstroke duo.
