Anderson University men's diver Matthew Hayward is set to compete in the NCAA D-III Central Diving Regionals, which is scheduled to begin on Friday in Chicago with the University of Chicago as the host school.
Hayward begins with the 1-meter diving event on Friday at 5 p.m. ET. The junior from Fort Wayne then competes in the 3-meter diving event on Saturday at 5 p.m. ET.
Hayward qualified for the NCAA Diving Regionals for the second time in his career by twice eclipsing the 11-dive 1-meter diving NCAA 'B' Qualifying standard of 425 points. He posted a season best of 466.75 points. Hayward was also selected as Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Diver of the Week three times this season.
Women's senior diver Halle Strege qualified for the third time in her career, but she will not be competing due to injury. Strege hit the NCAA 'B' Qualifying Standard for the 11-dive 1-meter diving event the two times needed to qualify for NCAA Regionals. She posted an 11-dive season best of 437.50 points.
