DePauw University swept the Anderson University softball team during Saturday's doubleheader in Greencastle.
The Tigers (16-1) captured a 9-2 victory against Anderson (0-6) in Game 1. DePauw then took an 8-0 victory in five innings. The Tigers are ranked No. 7 in the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) NCAA Division III poll.
In Game 1, Chloe Closser (Pendleton, Ind./Pendleton Heights) delivered a two-run home run. Ariel Lee (West Manchester, Ohio/National Trail) also cracked a double. In Game 2, Taylor Johnson (Danville, Ind./Covenant Christian), Kyleigh Lowry (Noblesville, Ind./Noblesville), Ashley Wheeler (Mahomet, Ill./Mahomet-Seymour) and Ally Hall (Pendleton, Ind./Pendleton Heights).
Anderson battles Franklin College (6-4) in a non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday at 3 p.m. at the Raven Softball Field.
