Yellow Jackets Complete Sweep against Ravens
Defiance College swept the Anderson University softball team during Thursday’s Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) at the Raven Softball Field.

Defiance College swept the Anderson University softball team during Thursday's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) at the Raven Softball Field.
The Yellow Jackets (12-8, 3-1) secured a 10-0 win against the Ravens (2-14, 0-4) in six innings in Game 1. Defiance then recorded a 13-3 victory in five innings in Game 2.
Molly Buck, Kayla Dillinger, Taylor Johnson, Ariel Lee and Ashley Wheeler each provided singles in Game 1, rounding out Anderson's five hits.
During the bottom of the second inning in Game 2, Faith Muterspaugh put the Ravens on the board with an RBI single. Mackenzie Beattie knocked in Lexi Rankin on a sacrifice fly in the same inning. In the fourth, Sami Herron scored on a wild pitch for the Ravens.
In addition to Muterspaugh's run-scoring single, Herron and Lee each added singles to round out the Ravens' three hits in Game 2.
Anderson hosts Transylvania University (15-9, 3-1) for Senior Day in an HCAC doubleheader on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Raven Softball Field.
