COACH TONY HOLLOWAY'S COMMENTS
- I thought Lexi Rankin in the circle pitched really well. Lexi at the bat had a pretty good day.
- Game 1, we were able to jump out to a lead and we were able to hold onto it. Lexi hit a two-run homer in the first. In the next inning, she gave up a homer herself to their big hitter, but we kept answering back.
- We were finally able to have Lady Luck on our side. They had some miscommunications to allow for us to score some runs. Where we have been snake bitten so many times this year, it finally come out on our side once.
- We played as well defensively as we have had all year. We made the routing plays and we stuck it. Even in the circle, Lexi did a great job of fielding some balls that topped a little bit and those are some plays we haven't been making.
- We hit. We finished with 20 hits with 10 hits in each game.
- We didn't play as well in the second game, but we battled back. We were down 7-0 and we come back and made it 7-4.
- We used a lot of people out of the bullpen in Game 2. We've been kind of banged up lately, but we're starting to get some people back.
- We got Alayna Hart back and she got a couple of at bats. Maddie Tuttle has been on the mend as well.
- Overall, I saw some good things [on Tuesday].
