Wittenberg University recorded a sweep against the Anderson University softball team during Monday's doubleheader in Springfield, Ohio.
The Tigers (10-9) rallied to a 5-4 victory in Game 1. Wittenberg then shut out Anderson (2-12) by a score of 5-0 in Game 2.
GAME 1: WITTENBERG 5, ANDERSON 4
Briana Busic put the Tigers on the board in the bottom of the first inning after scoring on a throwing error.
In the third, Clara Anderson drove in Busic on a sacrifice bunt.
Ariel Lee and Alysa Marcin each singled in runs for the Ravens to tie the game at 2-2 in the top of the fifth. Wittenberg regained the lead in the bottom half of the inning when Elise Freeland produced an RBI double.
Taylor Johnson singled in a run during the sixth to even the game at 3-3. The Ravens took a 4-3 lead in the top of the seventh as Ashley Wheeler ripped an RBI double.
In the bottom of the seventh, Freeland belted a two-run single to secure a 5-4 win for Wittenberg.
Johnson finished 3-for-3 for the Ravens. Kayla Dillinger went 2-for-3. Wheeler contributed a run-scoring double while Lee and Marcin rounded out Anderson's eight hits with single.
GAME 2: WITTENBERG 5, ANDERSON 0
In the first, Freeland drove in Busic after Freeland reached on an error. The Tigers went ahead 2-0 when Nikki Hawkins singled in a run. In the fifth, Hawkins belted a three-run double.
Sami Herron, Johnson and Kylie Sloan each provided singles for the Ravens.

The Ravens, which are 0-2 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) play, host Defiance College (10-8, 1-1) in a conference doubleheader on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at the Raven Softball Field.
