Anderson University softball junior Maddie Schoenradt tallied her 70th career stolen base at the Raven Softball Field on Tuesday, breaking the Anderson career record.

Anderson (6-8) split Tuesday's doubleheader with St. Mary's College (Ind.) (6-8). The Belles captured a 9-2 win in Game 1. Anderson then shut out the Belles 4-0 in Game 2.
COACH TONY HOLLOWAY'S COMMENTS
- The first game, we felt like we were a second slow everywhere. We didn't hit the ball quite as well. Braelynn didn't have her best game in the circle, but we didn't give her a lot of run support either. They got some timely hitting and broke it open.
- [After the first game], I told them that we had to flush that first game and come back and play our style of ball: put pressure on people, bunt, run, hit and run.
- M.J. threw a great game [in Game 2] with a shutout. It gets us closer to .500, where we could have dropped four games under .500.
- We're young, but we're starting to figure some things out. Coming into [Tuesday], we were hitting over .300. If we can get strong back-to-back pitching performances and play the kind of defense we played in the second game, we will be a tough team to beat.
- I think some good things are starting to happen. Last year, with the injuries we had and how young we were, I don't think we would have been able to bounce back after losing 9-2 in Game 1. That's where I'm most happy. We are young team, but we are very strong mentally, able to let things go and come back and win as a team. This was a very good team win.
MADDIE SCHOENRADT'S COMMENTS
- I'm a little surprised. I didn't think coming to play college softball that I would be breaking records in this way. I was always fast, but I didn't think I was [record-breaking] fast. I'm really thankful for the opportunity to be here and do that.
- I want us to keep playing as a team. I can have the record, but if I don't have my team, I don't have softball at all. If I didn't have this team, I wouldn't have the record. They always have my back and they are so proud of me, which I appreciate a lot.
