The Anderson University softball team fell to George Fox University and Washington University-St. Louis during the Pioneer Classic on Sunday at Elizabethtown Sports Park in Elizabethtown, Ky.

The Anderson University softball team fell to George Fox University and Washington University-St. Louis during the Pioneer Classic on Sunday at Elizabethtown Sports Park in Elizabethtown, Ky.
George Fox (9-9) put together a 33-1 win in five innings. Washington-St. Louis (7-7), ranked No. 25 in the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) NCAA D-III poll, then fought off the Ravens (0-6) by a score of 5-2.
Against George Fox, the Ravens received singles from Brook Reaves, Hope Smith, Rylee Morris, Kylie Sloan and Sarah Duncan.
In the battle with Washington-St. Louis, the Ravens began a seventh-inning rally against the Bears. Brianna Fellers and Jayden Brown recorded consecutive singles to lead off the inning. They both moved to second and third following a passed ball. Maddie Schoenradt belted a two-run single to make the score 5-2. After the Bears recorded a second out, Molly Buck drew a walk to put runners on first and second. The Bears retired the next batter to seal the game.
Schoenradt went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI's. Brown closed out the game 3-for-4. Morris, Faith Muterspaugh and Fellers also produced singles for the Ravens. Buck came out of the bullpen and issued four walks and allowed an unearned run on five hits in four and one-third innings.
The Ravens challenge No. 3 Trine University (10-2) in a doubleheader on Wednesday at 3 p.m. in Angola.
