Blackburn Collects Overtime Win against Anderson

Blackburn College collected a 90-79 overtime win against the Anderson University men's basketball team to wrap up the Bill Merris Tournament on Saturday in Jacksonville, Ill.

The Ravens (2-3) held a 40-28 lead at halftime. Blackburn then outscored Anderson 47-35 in the second half to enter overtime knotted at 75-all. The Beavers rolled to a 15-4 advantage in the overtime period.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Blackburn knocked down 19-of-29 (65.5 percent) shots from the field in the second half. The Beavers hit 32-of-59 (54.2 percent) attempts from the floor for the game while the Ravens made 29-of-72 (40.3 percent) shots.

ALL-TOURNAMENT TEAM

Tate Ivanyo was selected to the Bill Merris All-Tournament Team. He averaged 13 points and 5.5 rebounds during the tournament. Ivanyo finished with eight points and two rebounds during Friday's 76-58 loss to Wisconsin Lutheran College (2-2). The sophomore from Valparaiso notched 18 points and nine rebounds against Blackburn.
