Ravens Shut Down Beavers

The Anderson University men's basketball team (6-5, 4-0) shut down Bluffton University (3-8, 1-3) by a score of 93-50 during Saturday's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) matchup in O.C. Lewis Gymnasium.

COACH CARTER COLLINS'S COMMENTS

I'm very happy with our effort in all phases of the game. It's really important to get off to a quick start in your first game back after Christmas break, and we accomplished that, and then were able to maintain that effort throughout the course of the game. I'm really looking forward to this next segment of our season, in which we have six out of seven games on the road; we will certainly be tested.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Anderson recorded a 22-0 run in the first half.
• The Ravens led the Beavers 53-20 at halftime.
• In the first half, Anderson drained 10-of-17 (58.8 percent) shots from 3-point range and 20-of-31 (64.5 percent) attempts from the field.
• The Ravens took a 66-22 lead with 15 minutes, 43 seconds left in the second half.
• Anderson powered to a 22-2 advantage on fast-break points.
• The Ravens outscored the Beavers 32-6 off turnovers.
• Anderson knocked down 35-of-66 (53.0 percent) shots from the floor while Bluffton hit 17-of-59 (28.8 percent) attempts from the floor.
• The Ravens drained 14-of-30 (46.7 percent) attempts from behind the arc while the Beavers made 4-of-19 (21.1 percent) shots from the perimeter.
• Anderson converted 9-of-15 (60 percent) shots from the free-throw line while Bluffton made 12-of-24 (50 percent) attempts from the charity stripe.
• The Ravens outrebounded Bluffton 46-35.
