Anderson Improves to 10-2 in HCAC Play with Win against Mount St. Joseph

The Anderson University men's basketball team (15-4, 10-2) extends its winning streak against Mount St. Joseph University (4-15, 4-8) to 10 with a 79-58 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) victory on Saturday in Cincinnati.

COACH CARTER COLLINS'S COMMENTS

We got off to a great start in this one, and it was back and forth from there - exactly what you expect in a conference road game. I thought we did a good job of adjusting to our errors throughout the game and closed the game out on a high note. Our depth was evident and I thought that was our biggest factor in getting the victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Ravens converted on 32-of-70 (45.7 percent) on shots from the field, while the Lions hit 23-of-54 (42.6 percent) attempts from the floor.
• The Ravens hit 5-of-25 (20.0 percent) shots from 3-point range, while the Lions converted just 2-of-14 (14.3 percent) attempts from the perimeter.
• The Lions committed 23 turnovers to the Ravens' eight. The Ravens outscored the Lions 30-8 off turnovers.
• Anderson stole the ball 15 times throughout the game, while Mount St. Joseph gathered two steals. 
• Anderson held a 40-17 advantage from points off the bench and a 15-6 scoring advantage against Mount St. Joseph in fast-break opportunities
• The Ravens earned their second consecutive wire-to-wire victory.
• During the Ravens' 26-1 start to the game, they shot 11-12 (91.6 percent), including 2-2 from three, 2-2 from the free throw line, came up with six steals, and gave up one turnover.
• They also held the Lions 0-4 from the field, 0-3 from three, and had eight turnovers
