Ravens Battle Past Grizzlies

The Anderson University men's basketball team (8-5, 6-0) battles past Franklin College (7-6, 3-3) by a score of 72-61 during Saturday's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) matchup in Franklin.

COACH CARTER COLLINS'S COMMENTS

I'm proud of our team's effort and mentality [on Saturday]. The two teams combined to shoot 6-for-50 on 3-pointers, so it came down to an old-school battle in the paint, and I felt like we held our own most of the day. I thought our sense of urgency was much better to open the game than it was on Wednesday, and that ended up being the difference, as the second half was pretty back and forth. I'm looking forward to a couple more road games this coming week.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The two teams were held to a combined 12-percent (6-of-50) shooting from 3-point range. Anderson hit 3-of-22 (13.6 percent) shots from the perimeter and Franklin made 3-of-28 (10.7 percent) attempts from behind the arc.
• Anderson outscored Franklin 42-30 in the paint.
• The Ravens drained 27-of-59 (45.8 percent) shots from the field while the Grizzlies converted 23-of-74 (31.1 percent) attempts from the floor.
• Anderson outrebounded Franklin 47-41.
