Anderson Clashes with Manchester for HCAC Regular-Season Title
In a winner-take-all battle for the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) regular-season title, the Anderson University men’s basketball team clashes with rival Manchester University on Friday at 7:30 p.m. in O.C. Lewis Gymnasium.

Anderson (16-8, 14-3) currently leads Manchester (15-9, 13-4) by one game in the HCAC standings. The Spartans, who hold the tiebreaker against the Ravens, are looking to secure the split with Anderson on the regular season. Hanover College (16-8, 12-5) has clinched third place in the HCAC standings. Since the season series would be a split in the event of a Manchester win, Manchester holds the tiebreaker against Anderson since Manchester went 2-0 against Hanover and Anderson went 1-1 against Hanover.
Anderson last won the HCAC regular-season title in the 2009-10 season while Manchester last secured the HCAC regular-season title in the 2010-11 season.
LAST MEETING
With some hot shooting in the first half, Manchester went up by as many as 21 points in the first before entering halftime with a 60-41 lead. The Spartans drained 9-of-17 (52.9 percent) shots from 3-point range and 23-of-41 (56.1 percent) attempts from the field in the first half. Anderson surged back and captured a 99-97 victory on Jan. 4 in North Manchester.
Camden Smith led the Ravens with 28 points. Tate Ivanyo produced 24 points, 10 rebounds and hit 9-of-11 (81.8 percent) shots from the free-throw line. Jordan Gadis notched 22 points and sank 8-of-9 (88.9 percent) shots from the field while Gavin Dowling added 10 points.
For the Spartans, Bryant Smith poured in 34 points and drained 7-of-12 (58.3 percent) shots from the perimeter. Ty Lunas provided 23 points and seven assists. Zach Sawyer notched 15 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists while Quentez Columbus put together 14 points, eight assists and three steals.

Anderson clinched a share of the HCAC regular-season title by battling past Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology (14-10, 11-6) on Tuesday in Terre Haute. Following a competitive first half, the Fightin' Engineers entered halftime with a 37-35 lead. Rose-Hulman opened the second half with a 7-0 run to go ahead 44-35, but Anderson compiled 8-0 and 13-3 runs in the second half to help surge to an 80-66 victory. During the second half, Anderson converted 14-of-24 (58.3 percent) shots from the floor and 10-of-16 (62.5 percent) attempts from 3-point range.
Bryson Huckeby led the Ravens with 21 points. The freshman from Freeland, Mich. knocked down 5-of-6 (83.3 percent) shots from the perimeter and 7-of-9 (77.8 percent) attempts from the floor. Tate Ivanyo turned in 17 points. Elijah Mattingly notched 16 points, nine rebounds and four blocks. Camden Smith contributed 11 points and six assists while Alex Hunt collected four steals.

Ty Lunas tallied 13 points, Bryant Smith contributed 12 points and Quentez Columbus scored 10 points. Coy Hampton recorded seven rebounds and two blocks while Logan Willoughby provided five assists.
