Top-Ranked Trine Sweeps Ravens

Trine University swept the Anderson University softball team on Monday in Angola.

The Thunder (20-1) rolled to a 14-0 victory in Game 1 in five innings. Trine then coasted past Anderson (2-8) by a score of 9-0 in Game 2 in five innings. The defending national champion Trine Thunder are ranked No. 1 in the latest National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) NCAA D-III poll.

In Game 1, Brook Reaves and Maddie Schoenradt recorded singles. Schoenradt also stole a base. In Game 2, Molly Buck added a single. Kinzie Byrd (0-2) received the loss in Game 1 while Buck (1-4) was tagged with the loss in Game 2.

The Ravens battle Hope College (12-7) in a doubleheader on Friday at 3 p.m. at the Raven Softball Field.
