The Anderson University baseball team raced past Benedictine University (Ill.) and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Sunday at Grand Park in Westfield.

The Anderson University baseball team raced past Benedictine University (Ill.) and the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point on Sunday at Grand Park in Westfield.
Anderson (5-2) captured a 7-2 win against Benedictine (0-2). The Ravens then rolled to a 91- victory against Wisconsin-Stevens Point (0-2).
"It's fun watching the players as a whole play and execute to 'their expectations,'" Coach Mathew Bair said. "It's also great to watch the encouragement and enthusiasm they have for each other. It's truly genuine and every one of these guys wants the best for the next. I'm excited to continue watching them grow."
ANDERSON 7, BENEDICTINE 2
Joe Moran went 3-for-4 for the Ravens. Nick Jones finished 2-for-5. Thomas Parker contributed an RBI double. Branton Sanders, Jonathan Willoughby and Justin Reed rounded out Anderson's nine hits with singles.
Scoring runs for the Ravens was Thomas Parker, Sanders, Moran, Reed, Grant Thompson, Jason Hall-Manley and Adam Paschal. Thomas Parker, Sanders, Moran and Jones each drove in runs. Moran and Jones finished with two stolen bases apiece while Sanders, Willoughby, Thompson and Hall-Manley swiped bases.
Moran (2-0) recorded the win. He struck out seven batters, issued four walks and gave up four hits in five scoreless innings. Kasey Henderson fanned three batters and surrendered two unearned runs in three innings. Jackson Bland punched out two batters, conceded a walk and allowed zero runs on zero hits in one inning.
ANDERSON 9, WISCONSIN-STEVENS POINT 1
In his first at bat of the season, Hunter Cornelius crushed a two-run home run. Grahm Reedy also smashed a two-run blast. M.J. Furnish went 2-for-5 with a double. Sanders, Willoughby and Reed each turned in 2-for-5 performances. Thomas Parker, Moran and Jones rounded out Anderson's 13 hits with singles. Willoughby and Thomas Parker added RBIs.
Furnish produced two runs while Moran, Willoughby, Jones, Reed, Thompson, Cornelius and Reedy each plated runs. Jones racked up three stolen bases. Thomas Parker and Reed contributed two stolen bases apiece while Moran, Furnish and Reedy each tallied stolen bases.
Kennedy Parker (2-0) picked up the win. He fanned seven batters, allowed two walks and yielded an unearned run on four hits in seven innings. Andrew Rolfsen punched out three batters, issued one walk and conceded zero runs on two hits in two innings.
