The Anderson University baseball team took a split with Manchester University during Sunday’s Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) doubleheader at Don Brandon Field.

The Anderson University baseball team took a split with Manchester University during Sunday's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) doubleheader at Don Brandon Field.
Manchester (7-8, 7-8) fought past Anderson (9-6, 9-6) with a 10-6 win in Game 1. The Ravens then rolled to a 12-2 victory in eight innings in Game 2.
GAME 1: MANCHESTER 10, ANDERSON 6
M.J. Furnish (Fishers, Ind./Heritage Christian) went 2-for-4 with three RBIs for the Ravens. Jason Hall-Manley (New Palestine, Ind./New Palestine) finished 3-for-5 with a two-run single. Grahm Reedy (Yorktown, Ind./Yorktown) went 2-for-4 with a double. Justin Reed (Martinsville, Ind./Martinsville) and Jonathan Willoughby (Speedway, Ind./Speedway) each contributed doubles while Branton Sanders (Whiteland, Ind./Whiteland) and Tyler Burton (Knightstown, Ind./Knightstown) rounded out Anderson's 11 hits with singles. Evan Doan (Frankton, Ind./Frankton) threw for five innings and allowed two earned runs.
GAME 2: ANDERSON 12, MANCHESTER 2 (F/8)
Tyler Smitherman (Westfield, Ind./Westfield) went 3-for-4 with two doubles. Burton finished 2-for-4 while Rene Casas Jr. (Pendleton, Ind./Pendleton Heights) went 2-for-5 with a double. Willoughby notched three RBIs and a double. Reedy produced a double while Josh Price (Anderson, Ind./Daleville) and Bennie Day (Charlestown, Ind./Jeffersonville) rounded out Anderson's 11 hits with singles. Smitherman, Reedy, Hall-Manley, Casas Jr. Burton and Day each drove in a run.
Travis Bevington (Brownsburg, Ind./Brownsburg) (1-1) recorded the win. He struck out nine batters, issued three walks and gave up two runs on three hits in seven innings. Jacob Hoffman (Avon, Ind./Avon) fanned three batters and allowed two walks in a scoreless inning.
