Anderson Smashes Five Home Runs in Doubleheader against Rose-Hulman
The Anderson University baseball team smashed five home runs against Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology during Tuesday’s Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) doubleheader at Don Brandon Field.

The Anderson University baseball team smashed five home runs against Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology during Tuesday's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) doubleheader at Don Brandon Field.
Josh Price (Anderson, Ind./Daleville) entered Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader with two official at bats in his collegiate career. He blasted two homers, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Branton Sanders (Whiteland, Ind./Whiteland) added two jacks to his home-run total. He currently leads the HCAC with nine homers. Rene Casas Jr. (Pendleton, Ind./Pendleton Heights) crushed his second homer of the season.
Rose-Hulman (18-10, 18-10) put together a sweep of the Ravens (16-15, 16-15). The Fightin' Engineers locked up a 17-4 win in seven innings during Game 1. Rose-Hulman then outlasted Anderson with a 15-11 victory in Game 2.
GAME 1: ROSE-HULMAN 17, ANDERSON 4 (F/7)
Casas Jr. went 2-for-3 with a solo homer. Justin Reed (Martinsville, Ind./Martinsville) went 2-for-4 with an RBI single. T.J. Price (Anderson, Ind./Daleville) went 2-for-2. Jonathan Willoughby (Speedway, Ind./Speedway) and Bennie Day (Charlottesville, Ind./Jeffersonville) rounded out Anderson's eight hits with singles. Sanders also drove in a run.
GAME 2: ROSE-HULMAN 15, ANDERSON 11
Sanders and Josh Price each contributed a solo shot and a two-run blast to put Anderson's home-run total to four for the game. Josh Price went 2-for-3 while Sanders finished 2-for-5. T.J. Price finished 3-for-6 with two doubles. Casas Jr. finished 2-for-3 with two walks. Brady Reed (Whiteland, Ind./Whiteland) went 2-for-4. Jed Downham (Fort Wayne, Ind./Bishop Dwenger) and Rylan Metz (Alexandria, Ind./Alexandria-Monroe) each ripped doubles while Connor Gordon (Carmel, Ind./Heritage Christian School) rounded out Anderson's 14 hits with singles. Casas Jr., Brady Reed, Levi Brown (Milford, Ind./Wawasee) and Gordon each drove in runs. Sanders and Casas Jr. swiped two bases apiece.
Tyler Smitherman (Westfield, Ind./Westfield) struck out a batter, issued a walk and allowed zero hits in two scoreless innings. Jacob Hoffman (Avon, Ind./Avon) fanned three batters, yielded two walks and gave up one hit in one scoreless inning.
