The Anderson University baseball team swept Bluffton University in a pair of shootouts during Sunday’s Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) doubleheader on Sunday at Don Brandon Field.

The Anderson University baseball team swept Bluffton University in a pair of shootouts during Sunday's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) doubleheader on Sunday at Don Brandon Field.
Anderson (6-4, 6-4) powered past Bluffton (1-8, 1-8) with a 17-12 victory in Game 1. The Ravens then locked up a 12-9 win in Game 2.
GAME 1: ANDERSON 17, BLUFFTON 12
Branton Sanders (Whiteland, Ind./Whiteland) went 2-for-4 with a three-run home run and a triple. T.J. Price (Anderson, Ind./Daleville) finished 3-for-4 with two doubles. M.J. Furnish (Fishers, Ind./Heritage Christian) went 2-for-4 in three RBIs. Justin Reed (Martinsville, Ind./Martinsville) finished 2-for-5 with a double and a two-run single. Grahm Reedy (Yorktown, Ind./Yorktown) also went 2-for-4. Jonathan Willoughby (Speedway, Ind./Speedway), Jason Hall-Manley (New Palestine, Ind./New Palestine) and Tyler Burton (Knightstown, Ind./Knightstown) each rounded out Anderson's 14 hits with singles. Price and Willoughby each provided RBIs while Reedy stole two bases.
Cole Whitlock (Terre Haute, Ind./Terre Haute South) (1-0) captured the win. He struck out three batters, issued one walk and gave up three hits in four scoreless innings.
GAME 2: ANDERSON 12, BLUFFTON 9
Chandler Wise (Selma, Ind./Wapahani) went 2-for-2 with a triple. Reedy finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Hall-Manley turned in a 2-for-4 performance at the plate. Willoughby, Furnish, Price and Bennie Day (Charlestown, Ind./Jeffersonville) rounded out Anderson's 10 hits with singles. Price drove in two runs. Sanders, Reed, Willoughby, Wise and Day each contributed RBIs. Day also stole two bases.
Wise (1-0) secured the win for the Ravens. He fanned eight batters, yielded four walks and allowed two hits in three and one-third scoreless innings.
