Otterbein (1-0) took the lead in the second inning and the Ravens (1-3) were unable to make a comeback.
A three-run second inning from Otterbein brought them out to an early lead. In the top of the third, the Ravens were able to get one back after a lead-off walk from Connor Gordon who was later driven in by Justin Reed by way of an RBI triple.
Otterbein would score five more runs in the bottom half of the third to make it an 8-3 ballgame.
The Ravens tried to make a late push in the top of the sixth inning when senior T.J. Price hit a solo homerun. Later in the inning, Brady Reed's single would drive in junior Tyler Smitherman.
After the big third inning from Otterbein, the Raven's pitching staff only allowed three hits through five complete innings and zero runs. Logan Nickel through 2.1 innings, giving up only two hits and zero runs. Zach Wagner finished the game for the Ravens on the mound going three complete innings, one hit and zero runs.
The Ravens had four hits, three runs and one error in the game. Otterbein scored eight runs on 13 hits with two errors.
On Sunday, the Ravens face off against Baldwin Wallace University (3-0) in Westfield at Grand Park Field #4.
