Stank, Doan Sweep HCAC Athlete-of-the-Week Awards

The Ravens went 1-2 in their opening weekend of non-conference matchups last week. On Saturday, Anderson split their doubleheader with the University of Sewanee (2-1), taking Game 1 by a score of 4-0 and dropping game 2 by a score of 2-1. Then, on Sunday, the Ravens fell to Sewanee 8-1 to close out the series with the Tigers in Sewanee, Tenn.
Freshman Jake Stank, who was named Hitter of the Week, went 6-for-11, which included a homer off of his first career at bat. Stank had two RBI's and four stolen bases on the week as he finished with a .545 batting average and an .818 slugging percentage. In Game 1, Stank went 3-for-4 with a homer, two RBI's and two stolen bases. He added a single in Game 2. In Game 3, Stank finished 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.
Senior Evan Doan (1-0), who was selected as HCAC Pitcher of the Week, captured the win for the Ravens in game one against the Tigers. He came in and recorded five scoreless innings of relief and allowed five hits, one walk and struck out two batters.
Anderson will now face off against Otterbein University (0-0) on Feb. 25 at Grand Park in Westfield at 4:00PM.
