Bossman, Grubbs Sweep Raven/Quaker Classic MVP Awards
Anderson University men’s soccer junior Jordan Bossman was tabbed the Raven/Quaker Classic Offensive MVP while junior Dalton Grubbs was selected as the Raven/Quaker Classic Defensive MVP.

In addition to Bossman and Grubbs, Usman Kamara and Art Hinton IV were also named to the all-tournament team.
Anderson (2-0) captured the program's first Raven/Quaker Classic title since 2018. The Ravens rolled past the University of Cincinnati Clermont (3-2) by a score of 4-1 on Friday. Anderson then fought past Concordia University Chicago (0-2) by a score of 5-3 on Saturday.
Bossman recorded hat tricks in both Raven/Quaker Classic matches, becoming the first player in program history to post hat tricks in back-to-back matches. His hat trick against University of Cincinnati Clermont was completed in 25 minutes, 40 seconds. Bossman notched six goals during the classic.
Grubbs produced six intercepts and three steals during the classic. He turned in three intercepts against UC Clermont. Grubbs then put together three steals and three intercepts against Concordia University Chicago. He also contributed an assist against Concordia Chicago.
Kamara dished out four assists during the classic, which included two assists on Friday and two on Saturday. Hinton IV provided a shot and added to Anderson's defensive effort.
"I am very happy with the boys," Coach Scott Fridley said. "They not only showed some resolve, but worked hard in both games. It's a good way to start the season. Hopefully this will be a good kickoff to the season and get us ready for a busy week. I can't imagine how Jordan feels; that has never been done in our school's history and what an incredible week for him and the entire team."
On Friday, the Ravens put together a 4-1 victory against UC Clermont. Bossman recorded a hat trick for the Ravens while Samuel Maforikan turned in a goal. Kamara, Brendan Hall and Rico Mandolini each provided assists for the Ravens.
On Saturday, the Ravens fought past Concordia Chicago by a score of 5-3. Stephen Fite put the Ravens on the board with Caleb Gonser recording the assist. Concordia Chicago evened the score with a penalty kick goal from Michael Frank. Bossman added two more goals before halftime with Kamara assisting the first goal and Kamara and Iley McQuiddy assisting the second goal.
Concordia Chicago's Garrett Poynter produced goals in minutes 71 and 72 to even the score at 3-3. Poynter's first goal was a penalty kick and his second goal was assisted by Alexander Lechowicz. McQuiddy broke the tie in the 76th minute with a goal assisted by Grubbs and Josh Martinez. Bossman put the Ravens up 5-3 to complete his second consecutive hat trick. Matthew Murray and Daniel Karlen turned in the assists on the goal. Bossman closed out the match with three goals. Kamara provided two assists while McQuiddy recorded a goal and an assist.
The Ravens are scheduled for three matches in the upcoming week with each math being played at Fridley Field. Anderson battles Wilmington College (0-1) on Tuesday, Sept. 5 at 5 p.m. The Ravens then compete in the Raven/Spartan Classic. Anderson faces off with Wittenberg University (2-0) on Friday, Sept. 8 at 5 p.m. The Ravens then clash with Adrian College (0-0) on Parents Day on Saturday, Sept. 9 at 3 p.m.
