Anderson Repeats as Raven/Quaker Classic Champions
The Anderson University men’s soccer team (1-0-1) fought past Illinois College (1-1) by a score of 2-1 on Saturday at Fridley Field.

Anderson repeated as Raven/Quaker Classic champions, finishing 1-0-1 in the classic. The Ravens also celebrated Parents Day.
The Ravens scored a goal in the 12th minute as Jack Harris headed in a corner kick assist from Dalton Grubbs.
Illinois College evened the score at 1-1 in the 32nd minute. Aidan Gowin and Oscar Liogon Arenas set up a 1-on-1 breakaway for Reed Rogers and Rogers finished the goal. Gowin and Liogon Arenas each received assists.
The deciding goal of the match came in the 44th minute. Grubbs served a pass to Harris who headed a cross into the middle. Emmett Kindler was able to deflect the ball towards the goal and Illinois College's goalkeeper was unable to come up with the stop. Grubbs and Harris were both credited with assists. The Ravens were able to carry their 2-1 lead to end of the match.

- I am extremely proud of the boys. Illinois College has a really good team that is well coached.
- We took our time in the first half and controlled things early. We were patient and showed what type of soccer this team is capable of playing.
- Winning our tournament is a good place to start as we build for the year.
- We were blessed to have some of the freshmen step up.

- Luke Weinman V had to be called off the bench on Friday and never came off the rest of the way.
