Derrick Spires enters the 2024-25 season in his fourth year as an assistant coach at Anderson University. 

Spires competed on the Anderson University men's soccer team as a center midfielder and was inducted into the Anderson Athletics Hall of Fame in 2013. The 2000 graduate garnered first-team all-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) honors in each of the four years he competed for the Ravens. Spires was selected to the Anderson University 1999-2008 All-Decade Team. He currently holds career records for points (121), assists (47) and steals (182). Among Anderson career leaders, Spires also ranks T-1 in goals (37), second in minutes (6,777) and 10th in intercepts (142). Spires is tied for first in school history for most assists in a season with 14.

He currently resides in Noblesville, with his wife Jennifer and his two children, Maya and Noah.
